Cause baby you’re a firework: Anam & Abid’s sneak peak!

One fine, but blistering-hot-pakistani-summer-noon, I was contacted by Anam to shoot her Engagement event. As she was in the States at that time, we couldn’t arrange a meet-up so she booked me to save her date and then a week before her engagement visited me with Abid (Her fiance). We had a great session, I showed them my sample albums and talked about the the style preferred they’d event to be shot. It was fun discussing the nitty gritties. They were appreciative of the quality of my albums & work, I was over the moon =D

It was a joy to be around people who love each other. I pray they always be together! {Amen} <3And guess who? 😀 Nabia and me were high on the positive energy in the room and we were clicking mad! =D
Post Engagement celebrations, it was so much fun to be a part of their day! 😀

Wait up for the ACTUAL blog! 🙂
Till then,
Stay photogenic,

{You & Me: Nauroze & Rida’s Reception}

Cause it’s you and me and all of the people with nothing to do
Nothing to prove
And it’s you and me and all of the people
And I don’t know why, I can’t keep my eyes off of you
~ Lifehouse.

On a very rainy evening, I was visited by Nauroze. He had called time and again and been a persistent client; who wanted to book me as his ‘wedding photographer’ for his Reception. I was already pre-booked with a three day in a row wedding prior his date so I was a little uncertain to take his booking but decided to meet him in person and decide. The meeting went smoothly and he an aficionado for my ‘Moment-o-graphy.’ Since, we were on the same wavelength I decided that it would be great fun!

On another very chilly and extremely foggy night, I reached Regalia ahead of the time (G-6) for the Reception coverage.  What I saw was very overwhelming, Noroze and Rida had a connection; they could read each other’s minds and they talked via looks and secret smiles. Their comfort level assured me that I was here to do a great job capturing their love for each other.

Her shy smile deepened when she heard him. When his eyes fell on her, joy danced in his eyes. When she wasn’t around, he couldn’t resist a chance to bring up her name..

Hes the kind of guy who’ll put you at ease with his confidence and charm…and he clearly knows how to make her melt & Rida, You’re Gorrrrrrge, f’real! MashAllah! 🙂

Noroz & Rida: You are two of the most wonderful people and I felt incredibly lucky to document your wedding day. Thank you from the bottom of my heart of sharing your lives (and amazing families) with me and allowing me to see just how promising your future is together.

Stay photogenic,

July has been FANTASTIC so far though I did hurt my toe but Its much better now (thanks to all the antibiotics). Since the 8th of July – 12th, Nabia and I have been crazy shooting. A 3 day event was a Baluchi wedding, full of colors, emotions and raptures. The remaining 2 days were a reception dinner & a Mayon (where we ended up running into some old school acquaintances).

We resume shoots next week til the end of July and meetups from the 1st week of August for Sept/Oct & Nov.

So many details to fill you guys with:
– We have introduced *Storybook* Albums – { Getting very good responses from clients bout em! 😀 }
– Gift certificates

Shot post sunset at f9 park – amidst the mosquitoes and the humidity, we had a great time with the couple, who dazzled us with their zeal for photography and unmatched patience. 😀 I can’t wait to start working on their couple session along with the getting ready.

Lastly, I GOT MY VERY OWN *CANON EF 85mm 1.2 II*

Have a lot of blogs lined up, would post them all soonish!

Stay Photogenic,

The meet-up guideline: How to book me!

Hey guys,
As you know I prefer meeting my clients beforehand; it serves as an ice-breaking session. We also get to know whether our personalities click and if we would want to seal the deal.
So since I’d be resuming meetings from next week , I decided to compile this post which would serve as a pre-requisite for meet-ups.

Before coming to see me, if you go through these – it would be AWESOME, since we’d both end up being on the same page.

We, at Rammal Mehmud Photography are quite indulgent in On-location Sessions merely because:

  • We believe it contributes in building a bond with your wedding day.
  • We want to incorporate that into our moment-o-graphy; which means we document each moment in between the moments by utilizing your venue’s ambiance and locations to the max.
  • If your venue isn’t picturesque enough. You are to make alternate arrangements. We shall not be held responsible.
  • We only offer photography services, so we are not liable if you’re not able to find the perfect point for the shoot. We however, can visit the venue with you before the shoot to generate ideas for the bridal session –  which too depends on the fact that you have confirmed your booking by making a deposit of 50% of the total amount.
  • We do not change backdrops and superimpose elements in your photo-shoots pictures. We are quite engaged in ‘On location’ shoots which entail scenic gardens, pool sides, hotel lobbies and anything to do with making your shots stand out. No – hotel rooms do not fall under this category (UNLESS we want to make use of the mirror).
  • Please follow my blog and my Like page, to check out my style of photography. I am ME and I own my own style. If you want me to copy someone’s then I’m sorry you’re definitely at the wrong place. I do appreciate ‘ideas’ but only hire me for – ME.
  • Please do-not compare Me or my packages with other photographers, theres a reason why I’m different.
  • All prices of the packages are final, no discounts will be offered.

  1. Before the actual meetup, it would be best that you catch up with us on *Skype*. My id being *vrm.photography*. During that session, we can talk a bit bout your day, how you want everything to be and OF-COURSE the albums that we include in the package.
  2. Before paying for the selected bridal photography package, please ask for the *Terms & Conditions* form, so that we can discuss it together (Regarding your opinion on it)  so there is no ambiguity at both ends. We would expect you to take a print out and submit the filled form, 2 weeks before your event.
  3. Do expect a mail from our end, post your 50% deposition. The mail would enlist the contents of the package  for both of us (in black & white), just to let you know of what you’ve paid for and what I’m expected of.
  4. The Hi-resolution pictures shall be stored in our archiving system for a Year from wedding date. On approaching the 1 year anniversary; you can either choose to pay us an archiving fee or buy the Hi-resolution lot. If either option isn’t chosen then the folder shall be removed from our backup.
  5. Please go through this old post of mine too.

Hope this helps you make an informed decision! =)

Stay photogenic,

I remember when Farooq (Lead guitarist of Irtaash ) came over one evening and kept scribbling “Irtaash” all over my notebook.  He proudly told me; that was going to be the name of their band and that ‘Irtaash’ being a Urdu word meant vibrations in water. I remember laughing at him. I take good pics, does that mean I’m going to be a photographer one day?! *Jeez!*

Then commenced the jam sessions at home and finally one day he handed me the CD of their first ever recorded single – ‘Kaali Raatein’.
From the first version to the repeatedly revised one – been there done that.
🙂 Farooq and I go a long way back – since we were kids.
He’s my first cousin.

Irtaash has always been very close to his heart, a dream so sacred and cherished.
And now finally TRUE.

Here are some glimpses of Islamabad’s rock band consisting of Yasir, Farooq, Omer, Ali & Talha: Irtaash. Who just launched their DEBUT album, Kaala Safaid Aasmaan and I was fortunate enough to cover the whole event. 😀 It took place at ‘The Rock Musicarium’ which is nestled in a quiet area near Lake-view point.

I’ve never shot a concert before, so this is my maiden attempt at concert photography – that too without the use of strobes!
And what a breather from shooting weddings! *Phew!* haha! 😀

I felt a rapture of mixed emotions as I saw them all perform with such unmatched enthusiasm and confidence. It was as if the colors weren’t flooding around by the lighting setup but from the energy that flowed from one member to another! =D
Live events are PURE LOVE! 😀At this shoot, I had the creative, free license to experiment as much as I could! 😀  Ahh sheer blissh!

It was fantastic remembering how the crowd went wild as Yasir crooned “Kaali Raatein” and “Musafir”.
*Nostalgic*So that brings us at the end of this *rocking* post, hope you guys enjoyed it.
For more pics, please visit my Fan page.
Special thanks to Sufined for being there! 😀

Irtaash, you guys are amazing and a fine example of believing in one’s dreams!
<3 All the best for the future!

P.s: People, Their debut CD would be out soon, don’t forget to get your copy!

Stay photogenic,

Meant to be: Madiha & Haris’ Mehndi.

Heyy all you gorgeous ppl, hows it hanging?! enjoying the summer?! What are your summer plans?! I got a ton of them but never seem to have the time, for me! 😛 Thankfully, I managed taking mid May til June off  😀 Anyhow.. moving on..

They say,  Some couples are truly made for each other;  Madeeha & Haris were one such example.. but they also say that marriages are fixed in heavens so allow me to share with you, this earthly celebration of pure joy, euphoria and above all; love!

I often ask myself; How can you fail at documenting love?! It surely is beyond me.. especially when its right in your face! I cant help but go ‘aww’ while capturing those doting eyes, shy smiles, nervous giggles and the immense glow that radiates, just because you know now you’ll be together forever.

Meet Madeeha, who visited me with her better half & her dad in Feb. 🙂 We discussed the timeline of her event and how I would document it, we debated over the Photo-session ideas. I remember how she almost couldn’t book me and ended up changing her wedding dates according to my availability. 😀

In March 2011 ; I walked into the venue which was an explosion of colors ranging from happy yellows, vibrant oranges and green and bling!! It was truly very well done, down the tiniest detail by Royale Wedding & Event Planners. Take a look ..

The Dhol Damaka added to the festivities of the event. There was so much happening that I was sprinting from here to there.. making sure I didnt miss anything! It was abs delightful photographing the charming couple! 😀

I think a wedding is a reflection of your own personality.. Madeeha’s flamboyant personality was definitely reflected from the decore to the celebrations..

This wedding was documented in a pure wedding journalism.. with emphasis on capturing moments, which is why ive named it ” Moment-o-graphy.” So that each picture helps you remember the teeny weeny details of your day, bringing back memories you may have over looked in the chaos.

I hope you all enjoyed the visual treat this event was.. More posts to come about the weddings Ive been busy with! 😀

so, Stay tuned!

– R!

While I was gone..

In January, I was given the honor to  adjudicate TAMASHA 20Eleven; An event entailing theatre, painting, Sketching, Essay writing and musical concerts, as a Jury member for a Photography Competition at FAST-NU (Islamabad). There were other amazing photographers on the panel stemming from different fields of photography; Mobeen Ansari, A good friend and an artistic soul graduate from NCA possessed with a multitude of talents; Photographer, painter, sculptor and video-grapher. feel free to follow Mobeen on Facebook 🙂 We were also joined by Naved Ahmed; who is a Visual artist, Graphic Designer and Media Student also, Owner of Sufined and you can follow him on Facebook, then we had the honor of being joined by Awais Yaqub who is indulgent in nature, landscape and architectural photography. It was a treat to meet him and he graciously let me test his lens, since I was thinking of purchasing it next. =D Guys, feel free to follow him on facebook and check out his wesbite; www.awaisyaqub.com So, with the jury team, in unison we deliberated the fate of the photos. =)

The photos were a mix of art meets translation, with creative themes;

  • Re-branding Pakistan
  • Truck art
  • Father & Child
  • Photo Essays

TAMASHA 20eleven had participants from all over Pakistan, Our FAST NU Islamabad Campus was housing all the out-of city participants, taking care of the food & accommodation. I had a few one-to-one discussions regarding lighting and conceptual shots & their execution with the participant lot and it was a thoroughly enjoyable experience! =D

Here are some pictures from the day for you to enjoy;

“My dates have been finalized and the first thing I did was come here and inform u :| I cant risk losing u :|”

Thats an excerpt from a client’s mail.

You have no idea how overwhelmed I felt after reading this! It was perfect – this girl wanted me to photograph her since LAST summer and was waiting for her BIG day to arrive.
As it turns out, I wouldn’t be able to click her BIG day after all. Reason being: The dates she mentioned are already booked for MARCH.

So I decided to blog about it.

The perks of booking dates ahead of time:
* Due to the ample amount of time till your wedding, you and I can actually sit down & discuss ideas.
* I can visit the venue with you and plan certain shots around specific venue details to help you optimize the best of your big day, So when you will reflect back, the shots will help you remember the nervous jitters and the giggles in between.
* I can assess the level of comfort level you have with you spouse and translate that better into an image.
* I can get creative with my lighting arrangements and give your shots an oomph factor!
* When the couple meets me beforehand, the initial hesitation is also eliminated as this meetup acts as an ice breaking session.
* There would be NO date-overlapping fear! 😛

Hope this helps you make an informed decision!

Stay photogenic,

{You & Me: Sneak preview}
