10,000th fan GIVEAWAY!

I remember how narcissist the word ‘Fanpage’ used to sound at the beginning. I almost didn’t make one but Nabia forced me to create it when our photography business took off. We were one of the first few photography fan pages from Islamabad and still remember the first few fans, the commenters and our very first competition! ๐Ÿ™‚
We are very thankful to everyone who sincerely supported & loved us throughout this journey. So thankful that words fell short and we were bound to announce yet another ‘GIVEAWAY’, like the last year but – with a NEW twist.

Sooo the procedure is Easy-breezy! ๐Ÿ˜€
+ Invite your friends over and if they end up being the 10,000th fan – you and him/her would get to avail our newest photography package, “Music & Lyrics!”
+ Music & Lyrics contain 20 shots (5×7 prints) based on your favorite song!
+ The duration of the shoot would be 1-2 hours.
+ A video-montage of the shots would be created and uploaded on the page! ๐Ÿ™‚
+ The winners would be featured on the fan page, our blog and on our website.

P.s: Do you know VRM-HUB would be turning 2 next month? ๐Ÿ˜€

Till my next post,
Stay photogenic,

‘Music & Lyrics’ is strictly copyrighted to Rammal Mehmud. The concept & the name of the package is ours and shouldn’t be replicated. In case this is forged and seen on other photography pages, serious action will ย be taken.

Hello VRM-HUB! :)

We have decided to add a land-line to our mode of communication. =) However, you can still text and call on our cell number i.e 03325510312.

P.s: Please remember that Sundays are off.

Stay photogenic,

All the shadowy corners of me.

Heys! Hows everyone?
July has been FANTASTIC so far though I did hurt my toe but Its much better now (thanks to all the antibiotics). Since the 8th of July – 12th, Nabia and I have been crazy shooting. A 3 day event was a Baluchi wedding, full of colors, emotions and raptures. The remaining 2 days were a reception dinner & a Mayon (where we ended up running into some old school acquaintances).

We resume shoots next week til the end of July and meetups from the 1st week of August for Sept/Oct & Nov.

So many details to fill you guys with:
– We have introduced *Storybook* Albums – { Getting very good responses from clients bout em! ๐Ÿ˜€ }
– Gift certificates

Shot post sunset at f9 park – amidst the mosquitoes and the humidity, we had a great time with the couple, who dazzled us with their zeal for photography and unmatched patience. ๐Ÿ˜€ I can’t wait to start working on their couple session along with the getting ready.

Lastly, I GOT MY VERY OWN *CANON EF 85mm 1.2 II*

Have a lot of blogs lined up, would post them all soonish!

P.s: Thankyou to all the lovely ladies who come and greet me with a hug (during the events) and let me know; they’ve joined my page! Love youuuu guys! *hugs* ๐Ÿ˜€

Stay Photogenic,

The meet-up guideline: How to book me!

Hey guys,
As you know I prefer meeting my clients beforehand; it serves as an ice-breaking session. We also get to know whether our personalities click and if we would want to seal the deal.
So since I’d be resuming meetings from next week , I decided to compile this post which would serve as a pre-requisite for meet-ups.

Before coming to see me, if you go through these – it would be AWESOME, since we’d both end up being on the same page.

We, at Rammal Mehmud Photography are quite indulgent in On-location Sessions merely because:

  • We believe it contributes in building a bond with your wedding day.
  • We want to incorporate that into our moment-o-graphy; which means we document each moment in between the moments by utilizing your venueโ€™s ambiance and locations to the max.
  • If your venue isnโ€™t picturesque enough. You are to make alternate arrangements. We shall not be held responsible.
  • We only offer photography services, so we are not liable if you’re not able to find the perfect point for the shoot. We however, can visit the venue with you before the shoot to generate ideas for the bridal session –ย  which too depends on the fact that you have confirmed your booking by making a deposit of 50% of the total amount.
  • We do not change backdrops and superimpose elements in your photo-shoots pictures. We are quite engaged in ‘On location’ shoots which entail scenic gardens, pool sides, hotel lobbies and anything to do with making your shots stand out. No – hotel rooms do not fall under this category (UNLESS we want to make use of the mirror).
  • Please follow my blog and my Like page, to check out my style of photography. I am ME and I own my own style. If you want me to copy someone’s then I’m sorry you’re definitely at the wrong place. I do appreciate ‘ideas’ but only hire me for – ME.
  • Please do-not compare Me or my packages with other photographers, theres a reason why I’m different.
  • All prices of the packages are final, no discounts will be offered.

  1. Before the actual meetup, it would be best that you catch up with us on *Skype*. My id being *vrm.photography*. During that session, we can talk a bit bout your day, how you want everything to be and OF-COURSE the albums that we include in the package.
  2. Before paying for the selected bridal photography package, please ask for the *Terms & Conditions* form, so that we can discuss it together (Regarding your opinion on it)ย  so there is no ambiguity at both ends. We would expect you to take a print out and submit the filled form, 2 weeks before your event.
  3. Do expect a mail from our end, post your 50% deposition. The mail would enlist the contents of the packageย  for both of us (in black & white), just to let you know of what you’ve paid for and what I’m expected of.
  4. The Hi-resolution pictures shall be stored in our archiving system for a Year from wedding date. On approaching the 1 year anniversary; you can either choose to pay us an archiving fee or buy the Hi-resolution lot. If either option isnโ€™t chosen then the folder shall be removed from our backup.
  5. Please go through this old post of mine too.

Hope this helps you make an informed decision! =)

Stay photogenic,

I remember when Farooq (Lead guitarist of Irtaash ) came over one evening and kept scribbling “Irtaash” all over my notebook.ย  He proudly told me; that was going to be the name of their band and that ‘Irtaash’ being a Urdu word meant vibrations in water. I remember laughing at him. I take good pics, does that mean I’m going to be a photographer one day?! *Jeez!*

Then commenced the jam sessions at home and finally one day he handed me the CD of their first ever recorded single – ‘Kaali Raatein’.
From the first version to the repeatedly revised one – been there done that.
๐Ÿ™‚ Farooq and I go a long way back – since we were kids.
He’s my first cousin.

Irtaash has always been very close to his heart, a dream so sacred and cherished.
And now finally TRUE.

Here are some glimpses of Islamabad’s rock band consisting of Yasir, Farooq, Omer, Ali & Talha: Irtaash. Who just launched their DEBUT album, Kaala Safaid Aasmaan and I was fortunate enough to cover the whole event. ๐Ÿ˜€ It took place at ‘The Rock Musicarium’ which is nestled in a quiet area near Lake-view point.

I’ve never shot a concert before, so this is my maiden attempt at concert photography – that too without the use of strobes!
And what a breather from shooting weddings! *Phew!* haha! ๐Ÿ˜€

I felt a rapture of mixed emotions as I saw them all perform with such unmatched enthusiasm and confidence. It was as if the colors weren’t flooding around by the lighting setup but from the energy that flowed from one member to another! =D
Live events are PURE LOVE! ๐Ÿ˜€At this shoot, I had the creative, free license to experiment as much as I could! ๐Ÿ˜€ย  Ahh sheer blissh!

It was fantastic remembering how the crowd went wild as Yasir crooned “Kaali Raatein” and “Musafir”.
*Nostalgic*So that brings us at the end of this *rocking* post, hope you guys enjoyed it.
For more pics, please visit my Fan page.
Special thanks to Sufined for being there! ๐Ÿ˜€

Irtaash, you guys are amazing and a fine example of believing in one’s dreams!
<3 All the best for the future!

P.s: People, Their debut CD would be out soon, don’t forget to get your copy!

Psyched bout the Nikkah shoot tom, had been looking forward to it for months! Never in my weirdest imaginations, had I thought to be covering my classmate’s and an ex-client’s BIG day! And that I’m the only photographer from both sides is – the ultimate cherry on top! =D

I remember visiting the venue a month back and returning with a head buzzing with ideas! Can’t wait to photograph the love and joy of the day coupled with the exotic venue! ๐Ÿ˜€

Btw, I just got an external drive for myself – can’t believe how stuffed my pc was! ๐Ÿ˜€ Now I’d be able to edit in peace! o/

Anyhow, wish me luck for the shoot tom! ๐Ÿ˜€

Stay photogenic,

Heyy guys! ๐Ÿ™‚ Howsiee!
Since the wedding seasons is in full swing, most of you are visiting me to view my portfolio and to discuss your venue and how you would prefer your event photography.

Since I don’t have a FAQ section as yet, I decided to include some of the frequently asked questions here.

Q. Where are you based?
I’m based in Islamabad, F-11. Once the client confirms her visit, she gets a mail/ text from me containing my address.

Q. Do you have your own studio?
I do have a studio, which is at my home. I’m furnishing it at the moment and Insha’Allah would be ready by the start of Nov.

Q. Can you facilitate bride-groom session at their bridal suite or at the hotel?
As a matter of fact, Yes! I carry my studio equipment to the hotel and have shot many sessions in the bridal suite. Sometimes clients prefer a shoot at the hotel because it seems like an easier option to them.

Q. Do you offer event coverage services?
Yes, I do. Infact I love covering events! =) People are slowly moving towards a new trend in event coverage, which is called “Photo journalism’. They prefer a mix of it as well as the traditional coverage.

Q. What is photo-journalism?
Photo-journalism simply means story telling in images, mostly candids. Weddings are not about photographs, its how one wants to remember their big day in a photograph, not about the moment but the moments in between. Covering every minor detail of the wedding, let it be the decor of the hall/ venue, raw emotions or those timeless moments! ๐Ÿ™‚ People often want a fusion of both the Traditional event coverage & Photojournalism though. Traditional coverage along becomes a bit boring because its the usual change of places of different families on the stage where the bride and groom are sitting.

Q. How do I book a date? Can I book a date 4 months in advance?
To book a date, the client needs to visit me in person. She can then have a look at my portfolio and if she likes my style of work, book me by making an advance payment of 50%. That actually makes it a lot easier for me since I then mark their date as *SAVED* on my calender with their name + location. ( Ya, I’m a bit old school. lol) Yes, I’m up for advance bookings.

Q. Do you prints the pics yourself?
I have made an agreement with Fuji Lab, to let *ME* handle printing pics of females who observe ‘Parda’ and do not want males to do that for them. That way *I* would be sending the print command, making minor adjustments on their Fuji software and getting prints – no male member of Fuji Lab would be allowed in until I get done.

So yaa pretty much – its a YES! ๐Ÿ™‚

Q. Do you get fed up of replying to mails again and again? ๐Ÿ˜€
I don’t care how many times a client calls, emails or inboxes me. I know its a high involvement project and requires a lot of research/ questions, so I’m willing to answer anything related to the project until you are fully satisfied.

I guess this is all for now, if you have any other queries..

There was a time when *blogger* was my life! ๐Ÿ™‚ I’m not kidding. I would blog in the university lab, I would blog at home or through my cellphone. I would blog daily, twice or thrice. It would be about the weather, how I felt about that day or simply : what I wore to uni.
It was my anti-drug.

Now its been days since I posted an entry, firstly I was busy with Eid and visiting relatives and secondly the wedding seasons starting so I’m gearing up for that. I’m SOH excited! ๐Ÿ˜€
Anyhow, I hope Your Eid was wonderful and that you got an ample amount of eidi, unlike me. ๐Ÿ˜› I was the giver this time, so it was different.

I love Henna! =) My sister, Nabia has taken this shot of me, after we got done with applying mehndi on Chand Raat ( The Eve before Eid).

Stay photogenic,
